A very exciting meet. One record broken by Halle Morris in the girls 11-12 50Y breaststroke with a time of :32.44.
Lots of best times.
The meet finished with the traditional hambone relay, a race in which a boy and girl from each age group and 2 coaches from each team swim 50 Y freestyle each (except 8 & unders swim 25Y). Marinwood won the hambone relay and the parent relays (medley relay, freestyle relay and fun relay). It was a very fun meet.

No team or pool records broken.
A fantastic day for the last dual meet of the 2010 MSL season at the Redwood pool – bright and sunny and not too hot. Although there were no records broken, there were some spectacular swims and incredibly close finishes. We decided to practice the fly-over starts to get the swimmers ready for Champs and, all we can say, is we’re glad we did though it took us a bit longer. The kids aren’t used to it so it was an adjustment to say the least, but these kids are ready for Champs 2010 now!

all-time top-ten list and swimmers from both teams combined to produce
an amazing 240 personal best times. The 8 swimmers who produced
personal best times in all three of their events were Bella Moynihan,

Scott Valley Team Records
8-Under boys 25 Butterfly: Ethan Lewczyk broke his own team record with a 15.99

13-14 Sasha Petrova set a new team record in her first meet as a 13-14. She broke Axexis Nemer’s 1996 record with a new time 28.74
It was Mill Valley vs. Mill Valley as the Scott Valley Sea Serpents visited the Strawberry Seals at the Tam Pool which both teams have called home this season (the Serpents have been practicing at Tam while their pool is being remodeled). A sun-splashed day, the meet saw a lot of fast times, good-natured rivalry and a lot of laughs. The one thing that has been learned over the course of the season is that the Tam Pool is much faster than the Strawberry Pool as record Strawberry times were constantly being broken at Tam and this meet was no exception. Above all the meet was LOUD as the cheering and spirit never stopped for both teams. But the highlight of the day was definitely the Golden Fin relay where swimmers from all age groups PLUS Coaches Paul and Jeremy participated in a massive freestyle relay (which included a running start dive by Taylor Gamboa) for Mill Valley ‘bragging rights’. Scott Valley won the relay by a body length to keep the Fin for another year – which is a good thing because nobody quite knows where the Fin is! As for the regular meet, Scott Valley notched a win over the Seals 316-242.

Novato Riptides vs. Orcas
Final Score:
Riptides
Orcas
Triple winners:
Records:
Jesse Schmidt of the Riptide broke a team record in the boys 13-14 backstroke
It was an extremely close meet from start to finish. Many races were won by only a fraction of a second. Best times were numerous, including a 3 second drop in the 25 yard butterfly race by 6 year old ORCA Tristan Barnes. Jesse Schmidt of Novato broke the Riptide team record from 1996 in the 13-14 Boys Backstroke. The record was previously held by Brian Cameron. The suspense of this meet continues, as we await the final outcome. It seems technology has gotten the best of us this time! The ORCAS and Riptides are staying tuned in for the final score. We’ll keep you posted!
